Calvin Sefala
Chief Executive OfficerIn charge of the overall success of the company, including strategic direction, culture and values. With more than 12 years’ experience, half in the media industry, Calvin has participated in various boards in South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya. He is a full member of SAICA and the Institute of Directors SA. Calvin enjoys a good laugh and watches entertaining comedy.
Lufuno Siphugu
Chief Financial OfficerAccountable for financial oversight and management, governance including audit, risk management and internal controls of the company. Worked across various industries for more than 12 years, representing different management and board structures across the African continent, including South Africa, Kenya and Ghana. Audited across various industries including Insurance, Pharmaceuticals, Motor industry, Construction and Services, as a full member of SAICA.
Adelaide Joshua-Hill
Head of Creative and SalesLeading, guiding and mentoring the team to deliver value, by creating world class productions. Adelaide has over a decade of experience within the television industry, having worked across different genres on live and pre-record shows such as YOTV, Live AMP and iKhaya. Previous experience includes being a youth educator, developing young minds to explore their creativity and unleash their potential.
Kenosi Msibi
Human Resources Manager Provides overall HR leadership for Urban Brew Studios, including the implementation and management of strategic HR initiatives. Key focus areas include the retention and development of key talent. Kenosi is loving, fun and enjoys spending time with family.
Daniel Ntunja
Head of Facilities and TechnologyResponsible for the profitability of broadcast facilities and technology division. Strategic foresight to provide sustainable technical and broadcast solutions. With almost 3 decades in broadcasting/television experience, over 15 years of managing various broadcast operations with various organisations. Daniel has been involved in various projects such as Y2K Olympics in Sydney, rest of Africa productions and technology solutions deployment.
Yandiswa Nkonde
Head of ChannelsA seasoned broadcast media professional with two decades of experience, initially started at Mnet, advancing from Scheduler to Movie Planner. At SABC 2, she focused on marketing flagship programs. Transitioning to Star Sat, she led content curation, then moved to Kwese, launching niche channels. Now, at Urban Brew, she leads One Gospel and Dumisa, shaping their strategic direction and ensuring success.
Tshepo Mashishi
Head of Urban Rhythm FactoryTshepo joined the team in 2010 as an audio-post engineer and composer and now heads up the sound and music department at Urban Brew Studios. Being equipped with a BA in Motion Pictures, majoring in Sound Design, has helped him lead a competent team of composers and audio technicians. Tshepo also enjoys the piano and is an avid piano player.
Carol Washington
Head of ContentWith over 30 years of experience in Television Broadcast and Corporate Communication, is passionate about producing all genres for both local and international markets. Works with many talented teams to create world-class productions. The company’s combined commitment to ensuring people are mentored and upskilled, ensures the continuous development of industry professionals, especially in the Production space
